Kirstin Franklin

Kirstin Franklin is a therapist-in-training in the Marriage and Family Therapy master’s program at East Carolina University. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education at UNC-Chapel Hill, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies. Born and raised in Raleigh, Kirstin is looking forward to working with clients from the Triangle at Family Solutions & Wellness Center.

Kirstin is passionate about helping people develop healthy relationships, empowering them to make sustainable change in their lives, and walking alongside them in their most difficult phases of life. Kirstin believes there is power in vulnerability and is honored to bear witness to the stories and strength of individuals, couples, and families in her work as a therapist. Kirstin uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques, attachment oriented approaches, and systemic thinking to aid her clients in overcoming challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, betrayals/distrust, and self esteem challenges. She believes that we are made for and impacted by relationships, and that we can deepen those relationships by acknowledging our emotions, sharing them with our loved ones, and validating them. We all have difficulties in our lives and in our relationships at one time or another, and Kirstin believes that additional support can help individuals, couples, and families enrich their lives, deepen their connection, and promote overall health.

Kirstin is interested in working with those who are navigating difficult life transitions, grief and loss, relationship distress, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, and communication problems. She is especially interested in working with couples to identify unhelpful patterns, acknowledge emotions and needs, and collaborate with them to find something that works better for all involved and promotes connection. Kirstin wants to create a warm, genuine, nonjudgmental environment for clients to best help them feel safe and facilitate growth.

Kirstin is an intern and cannot accept insurance. Kirstin offers a sliding fee scale starting at $20/hour. All intakes are a standard $20 regardless of income level.
